Several hit-and-run accidents in Manatee County have occurred recently, with the most recent taking place on Monday, July 29, 2013. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, this crash occurred around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Osprey Drive and University Parkway (State Road 610).

According to reports, a 2013 Honda Accord, driven by a 71-year-old female, was traveling northbound on Lake Osprey Drive. The car was in the outside left turn lane at University Parkway, when a driver in a red Hyundai Sonata hit the Accord and fled the accident scene. The driver continued northbound on Market Street. Police are asking for anyone with information about the crash or the driver to call the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.

Troopers do know that the Sonata had Florida tag DFB1Y and that the hit-and-run driver was described as a white female driver with short dark hair.

Other recent hit-and-run accidents in Manatee County include:

  • Hit-and-run crash in Bradenton on 15th Street East near 34th Avenue East. The crash left 15th Street East blocked.
  • Hit-and-run accident in Bradenton on 14th Street West at 38th Avenue West. The details of the crash were not immediately available.
  • Hit-and-run crash in Bradenton on Cortez Road West near Cape Vista Drive. There were no reports of injuries or road blockage from this accident.
  • Hit-and-run accident in Bradenton at 14th Street West and Cortez Road West. The details of this crash are unknown.

Within a two-week time period, five hit-and-run accidents in Manatee County were reported. While we do know that there were no reports of injuries in these Florida hit-and-run accidents, we also know how serious and even deadly hit-and-run car accidents in Bradenton and throughout Manatee County can be.
