A single car accident happened on State Road 70 around 4:45 Saturday morning involving one vehicle. The driver of the 2008 Honda Civic was taken to Blake Trauma Center with serious injuries.

The accident happened when the driver of the Honda Civic, 22 year old Ashley Stuart of Bradenton fell asleep at the wheel. She drove across the eastbound lanes of State Road 70 and off the roadway. After hitting a curb and a mailbox, she began traveling eastbound on the sidewalk and hit a utility pole. The impact from hitting the utility pole caused her car to spin counter clockwise and finally stop in the eastbound lanes of State Road 70. Her vehicle was facing northeast and blocked the eastbound lanes.

According to the report, there were no skid marks found at the scene of the accident. She was not wearing a seat belt and alcohol use was not involved.
