Recently, there have been several motorcycle and scooter crashes in Bradenton and Sarasota in which motorcyclists have been critically injured and died. We previously reported on a fatal Sarasota motorcycle crash that occurred at Bee Ridge Road and Tuttle Avenue on Monday, June 10, 2013. Just days later, another rider died in a scooter crash.
According to reports, the next deadly crash occurred on a motor scooter on Wednesday, June 12, 2013. This Bradenton scooter accident took place on Cortez Road around 9:40 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Aaron R. Hill, the scooter driver from Palmetto, was thrown from his bike when he made impact with a car.
Officials indicated that Hill was traveling eastbound on Cortez Road when he moved into the left turn lane and crashed into the right side of vehicle that was turning left at 37th Street West. Upon impact, the scooter overturned. Unfortunately, Hill was not wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries. He was taken to Blake Medical Center in critical condition, but he died the following day of the injuries he suffered.
Three days later on June 15, 2013, another serious Sarasota motorcycle crash took place on U.S. 301 at 18th Street. According to Sarasota Police, the accident caused a major route through the city to close, and this wreck also involved a motorcycle and car.
According to police, the motorcycle crash happened around 1:30 p.m., and is believed to have been caused due to the bike’s accelerator getting stuck. Sadly, the motorcyclist suffered multiple broken bones and was taken by Bayflite to Blake Medical Center for medical care.
Our Sarasota accident attorneys would like to wish the Sarasota motorcyclist a full recovery, and we would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Aaron Hill.
